Anatomy & Physiology I

Course Content:

Anatomy and Physiology is the study of the structure and function of the human body. This course follows a sequential development of the major body systems in an organized and structured curriculum. The course is designed to give the students a selective overview of human anatomical structure and an analysis of human physiological principles. Labs will include slide work, dissection, and studies of the human skeleton. The course will also use computer simulated dissection.

Required Materials:

1.      Binder with paper

2.      Pen (blue or black) and pencil

3.      Personal dry erase board

Grading:

The minimum level of satisfactory performance by UMDNJ standards in this course is a ‘C’ or better (75+ on midterm). Upon successful completion of the course, students will be eligible to take the UMDNJ standardized exam to determine college credit. All students must attain a ‘C’ (75) or better to earn college credit. Minimum passing standardized exam grade must be at least 65 before college transcript grade calculation can be determined.

50% Standardized Exam  +  50% High School Grade  =  UMDNJ Transcript Grade

         40% - Tests

25% - Labs and Projects (includes research papers, lab reports, etc.)

         15% - Quizzes

10% - Homework

         10% - Class Participation / Preparation / Behavior

            Keep in mind…

·         The teacher in any class does not assign grades; they are earned by the student.

·         I will never curve or otherwise edit grades based on other students’ grades.

·         I do not offer extra credit
